The Town of Riverview is currently seeking applications for an appointment by Mayor Ann Seamans to the TransAqua Board of Directors.
All residents are invited to respond, however applicants who demonstrate experience and expertise in either law or environmental protection are particularly welcomed due to existing vacancies.
The Board meets once monthly at the TransAqua facility on Hillsborough Road. Directors are expected to attend meetings in person with the total time commitment including preparation time estimated at 5 hours per month. Typically, Board appointments are for a four-year term.
TransAqua board membership offers interested individuals the opportunity to participate in the management of a non-profit organization that provides environmental stewardship supporting regional planning, economic development and quality of life for the communities of Riverview, Dieppe, and Moncton.
Applicants may complete a short form at www.townofriverview.ca/committees. Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017.
About TransAqua:
TransAqua is now the Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission’s official public face, brand and communication vehicle. It is the next logical evolution from the Commission’s initial focus on collecting and treating sewage, to its leadership in terms of generating high quality and well accepted compost from biosolids. The reinvigorated mandate of TransAqua is now on the quality of the output from its treatment process and discharge into the Petitcodiac River. The organizational focus is on environmental stewardship rather than purely on meeting regulatory requirements.
