Public outreach
The GMWC plays a significant role in raising awareness of the importance of wastewater treatment and environmental protection in general.
Numerous technical tours are provided on a regular basis to school classes, technical colleges, universities and others. The GMWC maintains a website which provides significant information on operations.
Open houses have been held in the past for milestone events such as the start-up of major project components and anniversaries.
Students from universities have done undergraduate and graduate research projects under the monitoring of GMWC staff.
The public is invited to pick up compost (Type “AA” quality) at the Compost Facility off Delong Drive. For smaller quantities (self-loaded), the product is provided free of charge.
