Brenda Dore Kidney, Secretary, Moncton

Brenda Dore Kidney recently retired from a long career with the City of Moncton, with most time spent in various roles within the Engineering Department.  Some of her responsibilities as the Field Chief were managing the large Capital projects field works, encompassing all aspects of the street construction projects (water, sewer, curb & sidewalks, asphalt) within the city.  Responsibilities included organization management and supervision of inspection and survey staff, quality and cost control measures, contract review, contract payments, specification writing, and oversight of subdivision developments.

After thirty years working in the Design and Construction division, she transferred into the Facilities section, collaborating with others in the creation of an actual Facilities Department for the City, with Asset Management, Maintenance Management and Life Cycle costing being top priorities.  Work also included daily management of building facilities, coordination of tendering and supervision of large Capital projects along with smaller maintenance projects.

Brenda is a Certified Engineering Technologist (retired).
